Gamuda Australia delivers world-class innovation with the launch of the Lining Erector Machine (LEM)

After being invited to present at last year’s Australasian Tunnelling Conference, we’ve seen strong industry interest in one of our most ambitious innovations — the world-first Lining Erector Machine (LEM).
Developed by the Gamuda Laing O’Rourke Consortium and inspired by TBM technology, the LEM was purpose-built to install a precast segmental lining within the mined spur tunnels on the Sydney Metro West – Western Tunnelling Package — redefining what’s possible in mined tunnelling.
Our selection to speak at the conference recognised not just the technology itself, but the collaborative thinking, engineering rigour and delivery mindset that turned a bold idea into a working reality on site.
Go behind the scenes to see the LEM in action and hear directly from the team on how this game-changing solution was conceived, designed and delivered.
