The New South Wales (NSW) Government has appointed Gamuda Engineering, to deliver the AUD2.7 billion.
(approximately RM7.32 billion) Sydney Metro West - Stations Package West, a vital component of the broader Sydney Metro project.
This milestone marks Gamuda’s single largest project win to date in Australia and its second major Sydney Metro contract, following the 2022 award of the AUD2.16 billion (approximately RM6.5 billion) Western Tunnelling Package.
The package contract includes the design and construction of five new metro stations along the Sydney Metro West alignment: Westmead, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, and The Bays.
Delivered as part of the 24-kilometre Sydney Metro West line connecting Greater Parramatta to Sydney’s Central Business District (CBD), the package scope also includes the construction of station boxes, entrances and access points, station fit-out works and integration with surrounding precincts.
Gamuda will act as the Principal Contractor for the project, while Laing O’Rourke and Gamuda Group’s wholly-owned subsidiary, DT Infrastructure, will join the delivery team, named MetroVista, as delivery partners.
Planning and detailed design are expected to commence in January 2026, with major construction starting by late 2026 and completion by 2031.
